YS graduates 2024

What we do

We’re Yellow Submarine, an Oxfordshire-based charity empowering people with learning disabilities and autism to live life to the full.

We run activity programmes, social clubs, and traineeships that create opportunities for our members to thrive.

Only 5% of adults with a learning disability are in paid employment

We want to change this

Many young people with learning disabilities leave school with limited life skills and opportunities. Our work begins from age 11, helping to develop confidence, build social skills, and ultimately increase employability.

At the same time, we support families and carers by offering much-needed respite.

We run two award-winning social enterprise cafes and a bakery where young adults gain hands-on experience through our

Life-Changing’ traineeship programme.

From testing recipes to taking orders, trainees are involved in every step, gaining vital skills and work experience in a safe, supportive environment.

Brownies and bakes

We sell our handmade bakes online, wholesale, and for events, all crafted using fresh, high-quality ingredients. No preservatives, no shortcuts. Just honest baking from scratch.

Having just been awarded two 2025 Taste Awards, the proof really is in the pudding!

Real ingredients. Real impact.

"Yellow Submarine makes me feel proud of how the world really is changing in positive ways - contrary to what newspaper headlines might lead us to feel. I truly wish I lived closer, because I'd be getting my coffee there every day!"
